<< After this, aware that everything was now finished,
in order that the Scripture might be fulfilled,
Jesus said, “I thirst.”
There was a vessel filled with common wine.
So they put a sponge soaked in wine on a sprig of hyssop
and put it up to his mouth.
When Jesus had taken the wine, he said,
“It is finished.”
And bowing his head, he handed over the spirit. >>
The most solemn day of the year for us, and the greatest sacrifice of love ever made.
I extend an invitation for all of us to get out of our comfort zone for Him — any sacrifice we do for Him, no matter how small it may seem to us - will be like a soothing balm for His aching heart.
Join us today for the Living Stations of the Cross from 12pm-1pm at the Foote Greene. 🤍
As we arrive to the height of our Lenten fastings, it can be easy to fall into discouragement. But within the Triduum, Jesus calls us to walk with Him throughout His Passion - knowing that the end of His Passion is just the beginning of His eternal glory! So, these last few days of Lent, give it all to Jesus, knowing that a celebration awaits you🤍
That said, YOU are invited to this year’s Feaster party at Men’s household following St. A’s Easter Vigil Mass, 11pm-3am! Bring your own dessert! See you there!!
happy Holy Wednesday! ❤️🔥
🤍 Excerpt from todays Gospel:
<< On the first day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread,
the disciples approached Jesus and said,
“Where do you want us to prepare
for you to eat the Passover?”
He said,
“Go into the city to a certain man and tell him,
‘The teacher says, “My appointed time draws near;
in your house I shall celebrate the Passover with my disciples.”’”
The disciples then did as Jesus had ordered,
and prepared the Passover. >>
As we approach the beginning of the Triduum, let us remember that at the Last Supper, as He breaks the bread — Jesus is the offering, the lamb. God the Father offers His only son so that we may have eternal life. Let us say an “I love you” to Jesus, as He reminds us of this often — but we rarely tell Him or show Him this.
Don’t miss Holy Thursday Mass at 7PM (& washing of the feet) + Adoration til midnight @ St. A’s ! 🤍
Jesus is inviting you into communion with Him this Holy Week. But how exactly do we accompany Him this week/accept that invitation?
Here’s a mini guide for you to pray with throughout the week. There are 4 art pieces, each followed by scripture and/or prayers. See where the Lord is inviting your heart to journey in prayer - not alone - but with Jesus alongside you and Mama Mary’s intercession🩵
1 week ago, UCatholic returned from our spring retreat: Moved by the Spirit🕊️ God did AMAZING things at this retreat and continues to work in the hearts of everyone who went🤍 Thank you to everyone who made this retreat possible! And thank you Jesus for accompanying each and every one of us in whatever deserts we may face!
Comment “glory!” if you experienced a God moment (big or small) at retreat❤️🔥
Part 3 of 3: Here are some final key points from Annie and Javi’s talk at last week’s Thrive. Whether you attended Thrive, or just tuned in for this 3 part recap, you are welcome to do this challenge:
Spend 10 minutes in adoration, reflecting on where in your life you fall into an excess or deficiency. Ask the Lord to lead you to the middle ground, to virtue❤️🔥
For more information on the topic of Christian Anthropology, visit Fr. Brendan Rolling’s talk on YouTube.
Part 2 of 3 of last week’s Thrive where Annie and Javi Lugo talked to us about Christian Anthropology. Here we learn about how God presented His perfect plan to the angels, yet some like Lucifer became jealous and turned their back on God. This Thursday, we will be diving deeper into the topic of angels, demons, and exorcisms. See you there!
Tomorrow is the first day of Lent! Which calls for a refresher on what fasting and abstinence are…
“As Lent is the time for greater love, listen to Jesus’s thirst… ‘Repent and believe,’ Jesus tells us. What are we to repent? Our hardness of heart. What are we to believe? Jesus thirsts even now, in your heart and in the poor — He knows your weakness. He wants only your love, wants only the chance to love you.” - Mother Teresa
Take a moment to pray today. Ask the Lord to show you the places within your heart that are longing for Him and His love. And invite Him to guide you through this Lenten season🤍
