JESUS IS PHYSICALLY PRESENT
IN THE EUCHARIST

JESUS IS PHYSICALLY PRESENT @ St. Augustine's
What else does Campus Ministry hope to do?  We hope to learn how to better communicate with Jesus through prayer, and we hope to place you physically in His presence.  Did you say "physically place you in God's presence?"  How can that be? Isn't God in Heaven, or at least his only presence here on earth is nebulous, and certainly not something concrete?  I used the word "physically" without the least exaggeration.  Yes, I mean this literally.  Jesus Christ is physically present (his body, blood, soul and divinity).  Jesus is alive and physically present on earth!!!! Did you know that you can physically come to visit him in person?  He is physically present in the tabernacle of all the Catholic Churches.  (The "tabernacle" is the ornate looking box usually located behind the altar at Church.)  Isn't this awesome?!

WHY IS JESUS-GOD HIMSELF- PHYSICALLY PRESENT HERE WITH US?
Remember he told us "I will not leave you... even until the end of time."  He must have thought we needed Him.  And do we ever!!  In one of the books in the Bible, the book of Matthew, He tells us, "Come to me all you who are weak and heavy burdened and I will give you rest."  We can come to Him in prayer, in nature and in community, but even more profoundly and more powerfully we can literally come to Him in the most real sense on earth - by visiting Him as he waits for us hiding in the Eucharist in the tabernacle of our churches.

Having said all this, I encourage you to come to Saint Augustine's parish during the hours of 7 AM to about 7 PM to visit Jesus in the tabernacle.

Give him your problems, your worries, your hopes, your needs, your joys, your heart, your life.  No problem is too big or too small for Him because He loves you more than anyone on earth, more than you love yourself.  He assures us in His Word, "Cast all your cares on Him because He cares for you."

Visiting Jesus is like lying in the sun.  You can be asleep at the beach and still get a suntan.  The only way you can avoid getting a suntan is by blocking it with something like an umbrella.  But you will still get tanned, even if you are asleep.  In the same way, by simply coming under his "love rays" pouring out of the tabernacle, you will be transformed.  The only way you will miss the wonders He wants to do in you and for you is if you block Him by not coming or refusing to believe He is really present.  You will still receive Jesus' love, transformation and healing, even if you are not very prayerful, by simply spending time with Him.  You will see the longer you spend time with Him the more peace you will have.  Come and visit Jesus as you would any other friend.  You don't have to say much, you can just sit there.  Check it out for yourself.  Come visit the best friend you will ever have.  I guarantee you will be glad you did.
